A prayer to Lord Vigneshwara to begin with.
ஆனை முகத்தோனே ஆறு முகன் சோதரனே,
அன்னை உமையவளின் அருமை மகனே...
அன்னைக்கு காவலாகி தந்தையிடம் போராடி தன்-
நம்பிக்கை காத்ததனால் தும்பிக்கை பெற்றவனே...
I have tuned it in Kaanada ragam.
I have been composing poems from my youth. This is one of my later poems (dated 04-June-2005). I would never have known the infinite possibility of weblogging in the internet if it were not for my son Ramesh. He helped me understand this possibility but it took a final shape today. The credit for this goes to my daughter Rekha, and her friend Rahul (who is as good as my second son).
அன்னை உமையவளின் அருமை மகனே...
அன்னைக்கு காவலாகி தந்தையிடம் போராடி தன்-
நம்பிக்கை காத்ததனால் தும்பிக்கை பெற்றவனே...
முன் வினை தீர்ப்பவனே முழுமுதற் கடவுளே தன்
தாய் தந்தை தரணி என்றே வலம் வந்துணர்த்தியோனே...
உந்திய வயிற்றோனே உனதடி பணிந்தேனே,
எந்தையும் தாயுமாயென் குறை களைந்தருள் நீயே!
காகமாய் உருவெடுத்தே கமண்டலம் கவிழ்த்தோனே,
ஏக்தந்தனே உன்னை ஏத்தமிட்டு தொழுதோமே...
எருக்கம்பூ அருகம்புல் என்றிவையில் மகிழ்வோனே,
எதிருமிடர் தொலைந்திடவே என்றும் முன்னில் வருவாயே!
தாய் தந்தை தரணி என்றே வலம் வந்துணர்த்தியோனே...

I have to admit that it takes some amount of mujanma punyam to meet wonderfully talented people in your lifetime. I am lucky enough to meet a few. Leela amma stands out among them with her high quality and imaginative writing skills. The poem which she has written for Lord Ganesh, whom I consider as my big brother as been taught to me by her daughter and herself. The devotion in those lines is par excellence. Keep writing and shower your beautiful poetry on us.

I sang it in Anandha Bhairavvvi and it suits very well, because 'sangeetham is there in the lyrics themselves ! Thank you so much! - K.Balaji
